Welcome to 5LD01 Supporting Self-Directed and Social Learning. This unit delves into the growing trend of individuals who prefer to learn at their own pace, through their preferred method, and in a way that fits with their schedules and lifestyle. Effective organizational learning must also encompass formal and informal socialized activities. The recognition of the benefits of driving performance through learning has brought about these shifts, which means that learning and development professionals must facilitate approaches for those who learn in these ways. In this unit, we will explore strategies to support self-directed and social learning, empowering learners to take control of their learning experience and achieve their goals.

What are the entry requirements?
To enrol in the CIPD foundation course, several requirements aspiring students must meet. While there are no specific qualifications needed, language and age requirements are crucial.
Firstly, all assignments and coursework are completed in English. Therefore, aspiring students who speak English as a first language or have passed English language literacy tests are eligible for the course. Secondly, applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a strong interest in learning and development of human resources management.
Thirdly, the unit demands learners to fulfil all learning outcomes due to the complexity of the assignments, concepts, and terminologies in the CIPD’s Level 5 Associate Diplomas in People Management and Learning and Development.
Moreover, all Level 5 assignments and objectives are equivalent to undergraduate-level coursework. CIPD centres conduct assessments to determine if an applicant’s qualifications meet the requirements for the fifth level. Therefore, to continue with the course, candidates must meet these requirements.
